It is possible to plan a visit without the hire of a car. If you are more interested in simply relaxing in a beautiful Italian environment that in seeing all the sights this may be the better option. This is particularly suitable if there is just two of you as there are two electric bicycles at the cottage which would enable local exploration. They will even get you up the hill to Cortona providing you are prepared to put in a bit of effort!

The bicycles, when fully charged can also get you to the train station at Camucia or Terontola allowing train trips to Florence, Arrezzo, Perugia, Castiglione del Lago and other places.

There is an early morning bus that will get you to Cortona, returning lunchtime.

It is also good walking country with quite a variety of footpaths leading from the village. Some are level - others a lot more demanding. It is possible to make a tour of the battlefield where Hannibal defeated the Romans if you are an energetic historian!

Extra bicycles can be hired at the hardware store in the village - though they will not be the cheats variety - musclepower only.

Numbers of a variety of local taxi firms can be found in the tourist information guide left in the cottage. When you arrive at the station you ask at the local bar for a taxi. From the station to the cottage should cost about 15 euros.
